He checks how close the sun is to the horizon.

Will it be soon or are you going to need to Trump me back? Cain asks.

The sun is a little way off yet.

You could send them to Amber. We lost a lot of staff in the raid on the Castle by the black eyes and Nevyn and they can probably do with some extra help, assuming that they can speak Thari. Caine replies.

Caine nods. Okay Timur. Then he ends the call.

There seems to be a great deal of activity going on in the little town now, with ogres all over the place starting to pack things up as best they can.

He outs the Trump away and walks over to the humans' cage.

"Hello. I am Timur. I will be sending you somewhere safe and without ogres."

Most of the humans in cages look malnurished and their clothes are in tatters. One woman with a tight lipped expression steps forward however proudly.

"This is our home. Send the ogres away!"

"Thank you for speaking plainly. I am sending the ogres away. Unfortunately an evil person, who calls himself Master Delvious, has damaged this world and it is no longer safe. That is why the ogres created the Banefire. I can send you to my family's world, where you will be safe and where you can find food and employment."

"There are no ogres there. Just humans?" The woman asks.

"Amber is ruled and peopled by humans like, er, like me when I'm not shape shifted. It is a centre of trade and power, so others, like people with humans torsoes and horse bodies, do visit, but I've never seen an ogre there. It's not impossible that some might visit, but they would be subject to my family's law."

The dangers in Amber aren't ogres, they're Corrupted members of my family!

"It is peopled by demons then!" The woman spits. "The demons are the friends of the Ogres."

"My family escaped from the demons a long time ago. They have recently defeated them in war. What do you know of the demons and their relationship with your people and the ogres?"

All true, if somewhat deceptive. <chuckle>

"The demons came and gave magic to the Ogres. You look like a Demon Lord and I don't trust them or you!" The woman tells him.

"I come from the same stock, because my ancestors fled from them. I can take this form, because my mother comes from near to where the Demon Lords live. You can trust me or not, but I am sending the ogres away, and then I will send you somewhere safe. I do this because it is the right thing to do."

The woman licks her lips nervously. "I want to trust you. We need to get away from here else we will all eventually be killed by those beasts. However I have no idea that this isn't some trick to kill us all once the ogres all escape?"

"It would make no sense to kill you, and if I wanted to, I could shoot you with arrows, tell the ogres to do it, or leave you in there to starve. I don't see that you have anything to lose by going where I send you. And I promise that my intentions are true."

"You could, yes that is certainly true. But what if you wanted our flesh for some other nefarious purpose like this monstrosity here." She points to the Banefire. "I'm inclined to believe you as the alternative is death here, but we need more certainty."

"Well you think how a total stranger can prove that he's not intending something worse than what the ogres are doing, while I go check on them. They claim to have been brought to this world from another, by Demon Lords."

"Perahps one of us can go through to this new world and confirm that it is safe for the rest of us before we all go through." She replies.

"Possibly, although, while it is easy to send you through, I'd need someone there to send you back. I'll see what I can work out."

He walks over to the caged eagles. "Do you understand me?" They spoke some eagle language that I could understand in eagle form. {Riders in the Storm (Timur06) Page 22}

"Good." The woman replies.

The eagles look at him as though he's food.

Just very big eagles. With a penchant for kidnapping females.

He heads over to check on the ogres.

The Ogres have piled all sorts of things up into a large pile in the central area of the little town. There are all sorts of things that they feel that they need on their journey to the new place.

He checks the pile for anything that might be an heirloom from the Courts of Chaos.

"Which one of you is Gromgall?"
